Can I Receive Collagen and Botox at the Same Time

Collagen and Botox can be used on different parts of the face to complement each other. They can correct the wrinkles on the forehead, around the eyes, nose and lips. More than one area can be injected at the same time but adequate care has to be taken to see that the injected fluids do not spread to other areas.

Botox and collagen injections work in different ways. Botox targets the muscles while collagen is dermal filler which is injected below a wrinkle or a scar or a depression to fill it in, and smoothening the surface of the skin.

Though both act differently, the end result is the same, a rejuvenating process that takes years off a person.

Both treatments take a short time, are relatively pain free and one can resume work within a short period. They are simple procedures with quick recovery time. Patients feel quite comfortable. They can eat, drink or wear make up. The only caution to be taken is that the area injected should not be rubbed for a few hours and the patient should not look up or down for a short period as that may cause the spread of the injected fluid. Even the redness or swelling which may occur in very few cases subsides after an hour or so and there are no tell tale signs showing that a treatment has taken place.

Treatments inject bovine it into wrinkles. The fills them to the same level as the normal skin and so the wrinkles disappear. It can also be used to make lips fuller. Botox paralyses the muscles and prevents the skin from being wrinkled. Age does not stop a person's skin from wrinkling. Even the best skin care treatment and correct diets and regular exercise are not enough to prevent wrinkles from appearing and hence botox.

The proteins provide firmness and support to the skin and once they begin to degenerate, the skin loses its fresh, youthful appearance and begins to look old. Wrinkles are expression lines which are made when a person makes the same expression thousands of times. Hence laugh lines or frown lines increase as age increases. Botox and collagen injections non-surgically change the appearance of the skin lines and wrinkles especially on the face. The body does not treat these substances as foreign substances so there is no reaction.

The top up or follow up procedures have to be repeated within a few months but if they are not repeated and the treatments are discontinued, these injectibles are simply reabsorbed by the body over a period of time and the face gradually returns to the normal contours. It is reported that more than three million Americans have their wrinkle making muscles relax by using botox and another one million have their lines and lips plumped with fillers. There is a thirty five percent increase in people seeking these improvements every year. Medical spas round the country are fully occupied with patients who flock here in search of rejuvenation products.
