How Much Does Microdermabrasion Cost?

Microdermabrasion is an affordable treatment. When the skin appears to be dull, wrinkled, lined, scarred or freckled from exposure to suns, microdermabrasion is the answer.

This is an easy procedure taking just half an hour or one hour to complete, which can be done anytime and most importantly it is easy on the purse.

The cost depends on the doctor, the type of procedure used, the extent of the damaged skin to be repaired, the charges of the venue etc. On an average, one session or treatment of microdermabrasion costs between $176 to $200. Most patients are satisfied and happy with one treatment.

The results are evident with one treatment but for longer and better results, the patient has to listen to what the doctor advises and go in for the course of treatment as he has recommended. Normally the treatment could be a weekly or a biweekly one. Lasting for a few sessions till the skin is completely cured of the dead cells, the acne marks, wrinkles, lines, and exposure to the sun.

This procedure can be done with different methods and can also be done at home. It consists of gently scraping the skin with the use of crystals or diamonds. A brush or a wand is used which gently removes the dead skin, which is then vacuumed away. In just half an hour the abrasion is done and then a skin cream enriched with vitamins is applied. A moisturizing cream completes the procedure and the patient walks out with a glowing and fresh looking face. Open pores are closed, sunken scars are filled, wrinkles and lines are erased and the skin gets a rejuvenated look. Most patients are happy with one sitting.

If done at home, the same method can be used following the instructions given by the cosmetic surgeon. However the result may not be as sparkling as microdermabrasion done in a clinic but of course the cost will be lesser.

Men and women having any type of skin and color can go in for this type of cosmetic procedure at any age. This is not a new procedure. People in Europe have used it extensively for many years. And people in the US are following this procedure for the last few years with good results. Since it is a non-surgical treatment, people prefer it to other types of rejuvenating procedures. Microdermabrasio has relatively less risks and problems, has more advantages and is easy on the purse making it an attractive proposition.
